Founded in September 2021 by the composer, conductor and Oud-player Shaul Bustan, and performing under his musical direction.

Based in Flensburg, it has no fixed lineup but draws on a pool of musicians mainly from Schleswig-Holstein and Denmark, with backgrounds from Germany, Italy, Denmark, Israel, Switzerland, Turkey, Taiwan and Spain. Depending on the project, between five and ten musicians come together, with or without a conductor, on instruments including violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, bassoon and oud, often joined by guest singers.

Rehearsals take place in Flensburg, and concerts are held mainly in Flensburg and across Schleswig-Holstein. The music is always project related and composed especially for the ensemble by young composers from Germany, Denmark and around the world. The styles range across modern classical music, world music, jazz and improvised music, each carrying elements of the musicians’ respective cultures and countries.

Since the first concert in October 2022 the ensemble has performed 14 premieres.
